Green Revolution

No I am in no way trying to connect to the one started long time back, and no, this isn’t related to recent price rise of food stocks. Instead I had a quiet interesting debate with Vaibhav on this one. This discussion was particularly interesting coz it used the terms that we most easily understand and use in our day to day tasks.

What happens when we over draw from banks, we pay huge interest, correct. Similarly what will happen if we all continue to with draw oxygen at pace where the drawing pace is more then the replenishing pace? The Oxygen stocks will run out and then the next generations would either carry oxygen cylinders or will simply die of suffocation.

Remedy?

Actually very simple, do a quick calculation, a few of the variables can be: -
1. How many people are there in the family
2. How many hours/min of fuel we burn (this includes car, stove etc)
3. How much electricity we consume (this can be seen from your bills)
4. Any other that you think should be

And the plan is simple, plant one tree for each of the activities/items. Which means for the ones that we have stated above we can have the trees planted and named as: -
1. Deepak-Tree (Myself)
2. Nidhi-Tree (My wife)
3. Munnu-Tree (My brother)
4. Gas Tree
5. Bike Tree
6. Electricity Tree
7. One additional Tree

This tree has to be a tree and a shrub or a bon-size plant will not help. This has to be a tree that would last for as long as you will last yourself. The plantation also need not to be in your locality, it can even be a picnic spot that you visit, actually speaking, chances of a tree surviving a picnic spot would be far more then your locality.

The best way to do it is that every time you or your friends go for a picnic, as them to carry one tree for each of the members in the group. These days the trees come in very convenient packages and do not cost much. I guess each tree would be close to 20 bucks, which actually means that each one spending even 50 bucks would get you sufficient trees in the boot of your car. Now if you consider this cost against the benefits you would be surprised to see the amount of help that it would do.

(I definitely would like to claim a copyright on this idea, coz this one is originally mine).

I am starting this, are you with me?
